Many people understand Direct Admission differently or do not understand what actually it means.

Direct admission means taking direct admission in any course or a college.

As you know, there is a complete process for admission in any course or college.

Meaning you have to write an entrance exam, you have to attend counseling, and according to your score, you get admission in that course or college.

It is here that the concept of direct admission comes in handy that if you have written the entrance exam of a university or college, and have not done well in it, you can still take direct admission.

There are many colleges and courses where even if you have not written the entrance exam, you can still get admission.

If you take direct admission to a college, then in any one of the management quota, NRI quota or normal quota, the college can give admission according to its convenience and seat availability.

It is important to keep clear here that, you cannot expect direct admission in all colleges or all courses, but the number of colleges giving direct admission is very large.

1) Direct admission in B.E/BTECH.

2) Management quota seats in engineering colleges.

3) Advantages of direct admission in engineering.

4) Spot Admission in engineering colleges.

5) Colleges list & fee structure for BTech direct admission.

Let’s get started!

Direct Admission in B.E/BTech

Direct Admission in B.Tech Colleges

Engineering Colleges Direct Admission is based on class 12th board marks.

You can take B.Tech direct admission if you have 45-50% marks in the 12th science subjects.

Many students have good marks in the 10th & 12th board exams.

But they fail to do well in the national level entrance test JEE Mains & Advanced.

Also, they are not able to secure marks in state-level entrance tests such as KCET, MAH-CET, WEBJEE, UPSEE, TANCET, etc.

The cost of a BTech program becomes very much cheaper when you get a seat through national & state level entrance exams.

But due to high competition among engineering aspirants, getting a seat through popular entrance exams is very difficult.

More than lakhs of aspirants apply for entrance test for admission in govt. aided colleges & top private colleges in India.

Private universities also offer BTech programs with an easy admission process.

But unfortunately, there are only a few private universities with high-quality standards.

Many private universities are recently established and don’t have much experience in teaching BTech courses.

Most of the private colleges offer direct admission to various courses.

B.E/BTech Direct Admission can be done mostly in private colleges & universities.

These institutes have seats reserved for students who are looking for admission in B.E/B/TECH without entrance exams.

But the number of seats is limited to 25-30% of the total intake.

Direct Admission in B.Tech Colleges

State-wise Number of Engineering Colleges in India

BTech direct admission can help you choose colleges for higher education based on:

1) Colleges preference.

2) Specialization choice.

3) City choice.

4) Budget for the course fee.

5) Annual Intake & placement offered.

6) Infrastructure & other facilities.

BTech Direct admission is available in private colleges & universities.

Management, NRI & Vacant seats after counseling are offered to students looking for BTech direct admission.

The cost of BTech direct admission varies for different colleges & as per specialization choice.

Many colleges offered direct admission in BTech without any donation.

In such colleges, you only have to pay annual tuition fees for direct admission.

But in the top 200 private colleges, you have to pay higher tuition fees.

Also, you might have to pay a one-time development fee for admission in top BTech specializations.

B.E/BTech Online Admission in Engineering Colleges

Many engineering colleges take admission online with the help of their respective college website.

Visit the college website admission section for online fees payment and seat booking procedures for students.

It is for students outside the city who want to book a seat online for BTech courses.

Online Payment for advance seat booking can be done easily by net banking.

Transfer 25-30% of the college annual tuition fees to book a seat in any private engineering college.

Once the payment is received, the college will mail you the admission offer letter along with the fee paid receipt.

You can use the offer letter, to apply for a bank loan for higher education.

Online seat booking is very helpful for students who have good knowledge of college and placements.

You can easily book a seat in a college through online fees payment.

Management Quota Seats in Engineering Colleges

Management quota seats are mostly available in private colleges & universities.

By paying a higher tuition fee, you can get BTech direct admission in top engineering colleges.

NRI quota seats are for NRI, OCI, PIO & foreign national students admission.

Some of the top engineering colleges have higher demand among aspirants.

Therefore 25-30% of total seats are reserved under NRI/Management quota seats.

If you don’t have a good score in entrance exams, management quota can help you join top engineering colleges.

It is a great way to join engineering colleges through management quota seats.

It is beneficial for the colleges as well as the students:

1) Students get admission in top colleges of their choice.

2) College gets a surplus of funds to run their organization.

Unaided institutions are not provided any funds by the government.

Some seats in Private engineering colleges are reserved for B.Tech direct admission which helps the colleges provide:

1) High-Quality Education.

2) Experienced faculty with a Ph.D. degree.

3) State of the art infrastructure & facilities.

4) Industry Collaboration & Research centers.

5) Job Oriented training & certification.

It helps a lot in improving the standard of education for any reputed college.

Management quota seats are costlier in the top private colleges compared to private universities.

Because private colleges have a limited intake compared to private universities.

Generally, the cost of management seats is higher for some of the popular specializations such as:

1) Computer Science Engineering

2) Information Science Engineering

3) Electronics & Communication Engineering

4) Mechanical Engineering

5) Civil Engineering

6) Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Private universities have more intake, thus they have lower fees compared to top private colleges.

Management Seats in Top Engineering Colleges

There are more than 3k engineering colleges in India with a total intake of around 14 Lakhs seats.

Annual Intake for B.E/B.Tech Colleges in India

Every year around 7-8 lakhs students get enrolled in various engineering colleges.

Total Number of Enrolment in B.Tech courses in India

Nearly half of the seats in engineering colleges remain vacant because:

1) A decline in interest for engineering courses among 12th aspirants.

2) Lower employment ratio compared to the annual enrollments.

3) Poor quality of engineering colleges.

4) No skills development training & job oriented training.

5) Higher annual tuition fees with lesser ROI.

The number of students enrolling for B.E/BTech courses has decreased over the years.

This is because of unemployment due to a lack of industry skills.

Though there is a lot of opportunities in studying engineering after 12th.

But many engineering colleges fail to provide the right platform to their students.

Most of the engineering colleges lack the following requirements:

1) Trained faculty with experience.

2) Research centers for students & faculty.

3) Outdated facilities, labs, and infrastructure.

4) No collaboration with industry & foreign universities.

5) Placements assistance & training.

6) Accreditation from NAAC & NBA.

Engineers who graduate from these colleges lack employability skills as per industry demands.

ELIGIBILITY FOR MBBS IN CHINA

In the year 2003-2004, students from India started taking admissions in Chinese medical universities. However, it was till 2007-08, that MCI had set some eligibility rules to study MBBS for Indian students, wherein a list of 30 Chinese Medical Universities were authorized by the Medical Council of India. This authorization was only on the basis of the Chinese Ministry of Education approval of enrolling foreign students for English-language undergraduate medical education.

The eligibility to study MBBS in China was officially put up on the MCI website from 2007-08.  Earlier, To be Eligible for the program one must have to pass 10+2 or its equivalent examination with minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Biology. The students were also supposed to apply for an Eligibility Certificate before going to China from MCI which was proof that the medical university is recognized. This eligibility criterion for studying MBBS was uncertain for few years, however, it was mandatory for all the students to obtain the eligibility certificate.

In the years from 2008 to 2016-17, eligibility criteria to admit Indian students was changed from 50% to minimum of 60% by the Chinese medical universities. The only reason being, many of the students who were admitted to study medicine with low percentages, were not able to cope up with the medical syllabus and would not be able to complete the 5 years course. The Chinese Ministry of Education took some strict and important steps for the betterment of the international student’s education and raised the bar for the eligibility.

From 2017-18, Medical Council of India started the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) for all the students who wish to study medicine after 10+2. However many of the students in different states in India were unaware of such examination and were exempted for that year to appear NEET. These students were allowed to study MBBS for that year, without qualifying NEET. In the academic year of 2018-19 NEET was mandatory for all the students who wish to study medicine abroad. However, in the month of March, 2019, MCI made a special exemption for the students who have not qualified NEET-2018 and intending to take admission in MBBS or equivalent medical course abroad, until the declaration of NEET-2019 result which was scheduled on 5th June 2019. These students will have to apply for MCI Eligibility certificate before they take admission in the universities abroad.

The eligibility for studying MBBS in China for Indian students in 2019 has been declared and it says, that the NEET eligibility marks will be valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of declaration of result. These students will be entitled to pursue MBBS in China including pre-medical/language course, if any followed by MBBS or equivalent medical course. This MCI eligibility rule of 2019 has been a sign of relief for lots of Indian students who are already studying in top rated university in China for MBBS and who wish to study in future.
